Sildenafil Citrate or Viagra, if you don’t know it was actually initially being developed for other purposes and not for erectile dysfunction? In fact, it was only by chance discovery and observation that clinical researchers saw its potential to treat erectile dysfunction after seeing that test subjects who took the drug while it was on testing phases has potent erections and from that point, they decided to market this drug for ED and finally in 1998, Pfizer, a pharmaceutical giant, released its first drug for management of erectile dysfunction and named it Viagra, and the rest you know is history. This drug has taken roots since it first came out and now it is even known as a primary line of defense for erectile dysfunction by none other than the World Health Organization, who recognized the ability of Viagra to treat, although not necessarily cure, erectile dysfunction. Of course there is no real core for erectile dysfunction as of yet, but at least Viagra, whether the brand name or just generic sildenafil citrate has helped stir up a nest and now other pharmaceuticals are on the race to research and develop the next best thing to sildenafil citrate and who knows, maybe in the future a definite cure will stem out from this competition. For now though, nobody can beat Viagra in terms of sales and usage as this has become the most widely accepted pill and it is a household term already that once you hear the word impotency or erectile dysfunction, Viagra automatically comes to mind right? But no matter how famous or how useful this drug is, it will only work best if you first have a consultation with your doctor as this is a prescription drug and you cannot just take it if you feel like doing so. There are sildenafil citrate side effects that you should know about like headaches, nausea, dyspepsia, blurring of vision, and also the more serious ones like loss and blurring of vision or coloration of your visual field, and even prolonged erection which is dangerous as this can permanently damage your penile muscles and tissue and you certainly wont want that from happening. So just be safe, if you think you are in need of this drug, make sure to get a doctor’s approval first to make sure all will be well and you can enjoy using Viagra more.
